When my son was in kindergarten, I put his plastic food from the play kitchen into his lunchbox. I told the teacher where his real lunch was so he could still eat!

High school - we all waited for our first class of the day to start when the principal announced over the intercom that he decided to declare the day as the Senior Cut Day for the year. The ultimatum was that every class that was missed still counted towards the yearly class attendance school rule (6 classes absent throughout the year total meant you failed the class & wouldn't receive the credits to graduate; 2 tardies equaled to an absence). So with a 1 1/2 months left of the school year, it was up to the senior to take the 'vacation' or stay in school since they were already there. Later on, we learned that the real Senior Cut Day was closer towards mid-May, just before the Senior's last day, which still had the school attendance rule attached to it. This was the principal's method of teaching kids morals of staying in school & get an education or to blow it off at the beach.
