See the Results from Tuesday's Newton Preliminary Election

See who will compete for mayor and Ward 1 Alderman in November's General Election.

Newton Mayor Setti Warren glided into the general election by getting a wide majority of the vote in Tuesday's Preliminary Election. He will face Alderman Ted Hess-Mahan.

Warren got 4,265 votes, followed by Hess-Mahan who got 1,371, according to the unofficial vote totals from the Newton Elections website. Challengers Tom Sheff received 359 votes and Jacqueline Sequeira got 128 votes.

In the Ward 1 Alderman race, Alison Leary will take on Allan Ciccone in the Nov. 5 general election after they garnered the top two vote totals. Leary tallied 434 votes and Ciccone received 261, while Roger Marrocco Jr. got 103 votes, according to the website.

The general election will be held on Tuesday Nov. 5.
