"Postcards reps a refreshingly wry addition to the growing body of films on the war-ravaged nation” -Variety
At the height of the Cold War, the Osman family frantically escaped from Afghanistan and left almost all their belongings behind. In the ensuing chaos, their only suitcase filled with family photos was stolen. Now, after two decades of living in America, Wazhmah Osman, a young Afghan-American woman returns to her childhood home on a search for any tangible evidence of her former life. Armed only with rapidly fading memories, she recruits some unlikely and reluctant guides to put together the pieces of her past.
Skype Q&A with Wazhmah Osman to follow.
Admission is free and open to the public, so please spread the word to your friends, students, colleagues, and social media outlets—we hope to see you there!
