ETIQUETTE for MIDDLE SCHOOLERS: Peer Pressure and Beyond

Middle-schoolers face challenging social and societal issues and we expect them to behave responsibly. This discussion-based course will strengthen your child's communication, presentation, and social skills through role-playing. We empower and inspire students by providing them with the knowledge on what the proper manners are at home, school, and in their social lives. The goal is to raise awareness about peer pressure, the communities within them, and provide structure to learn more about the specific rules and actions an individual can take to feel more secure in the way that they should act in certain situations.

This 8-week class will cover:
  • Basic manners
  • Learning how to project confidence
  • Dealing with shyness
  • Leadership
  • Personal appearance and grooming
  • Self-esteem
  • European vs. North American etiquette
  • Starting, holding, and ending a conversation
  • Friendships, cliques, and social cues
  • Living with allergies
  • Table manners
  • Presentations
  • Resolving conflict, and understanding (in)appropriate behavior
  • Basic dancing (optional)
