Growing Fruit Trees in Newton

A 2 session program, March 15th and April 5th, 9am - 11am designed to help you successfully grow fruit trees, focusing
specifically on apple, peach, pear, plum and cherry.

Class topics include variety selection, where
and when to purchase healthy trees, best planting locations on your property,
and how to manage their growth. We will introduce you to the varieties of fruit
trees that grow best in Newton, and describe how to prune and care for them. The class will visit the Newton Community Farm orchard during the
dormant period, and later during bloom. Depending on timing, you will
participate in the planting of a new tree.
