Healthy Cooking Expert to Speak in Newton

Cookbook author Katie Workman will discuss her book, The Mom 100 Cookbook at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton
Street) in Newton on Thursday, January 30 at 6:30pm. Geared for novice
cooks to experienced chefs, attendees will learn how to shop, what to prepare
and whose recipes to follow. Joining the discussion, which will be
moderated by food blogger, author (Well
Cooked Life
) and mom Emily Franklin, will be pediatric nutritionist Joanne
Casplar and family educator Sarah Wilensky. Cooking demonstrations and recipe
sharing will be included.



Workman has been featured on The Today Show and Fox News, and in The New York
Times
, The Boston Globe, and Cooking Light Magazine, where her book
was named one the best five weeknight cookbooks of the past 25 years.



Open to all. The program is
part of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Boston Jewish Literary Series. Cost is $12. Free
