Lasell College Presents, a Presidential Speaker Series Event
Poetry Reading by Moira Linehan and David Fedo followed by a discussion of their creative process.

Please join President Michael B. Alexander for a Presidential Speaker Series event
featuring award winning American poets Moira
Linehan
and David
Fedo
.  The event will consist of a reading by each author
followed by a discussion of their creative process.  Guests are encouraged
to bring their friends and colleagues who may enjoy learning more about the
Lasell College community. 



Moira Linehan’s debut collection, If No Moon (Southern
Illinois University Press, 2007), was selected by Dorianne Laux as the winner
of the 2006 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry open competition. In 2008 it was
named an Honor Book in Poetry in the Massachusetts Book Awards. After careers
as a high school English teacher and administrator in high tech and academic
settings, Moira Linehan now writes full-time and occasionally leads poetry
writing workshops.   Moira’s poems have appeared in many journals
(eg.  Crab Orchard
Review, Notre
Dame Review, Poetry,
Prairie Schooner). 
Her second collection of poetry, Incarnate
Grace, will be published by Southern Illinois University Press in
Spring 2015.  She holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont College and lives
in the Boston area.

(Ethos, 2009), David
Fedo
has had poems published in periodicals and journals in the
United States and Canada.  A native of Minnesota, he served as the
academic vice president and dean of Curry College, in Milton, Massachusetts for
17 years, where he now holds the title of Academic Vice President
Emeritus.  In 2007, David became the executive director and visiting
scholar of the Singapore branch of the Wheelock College (Boston, Massachusetts)
Center for International Education, Leadership, and Innovation, located at Ngee
Ann Polytechnic.  During his years based in Singapore, he travelled
extensively throughout Southeast Asia, and edited a book of essays by
expatriates living in Singapore, titled:  Singapore:  Insights from the Inside
(2012).  A long-time resident of the Boston area, David received his M.A.
and Ph.D. degrees in English and American Literature from Boston University.
