The Street Presents This Year's Annual Arts Stroll & Shop

WHAT: Arts Stroll & Shop at THE STREET is a complete holiday extravaganza designed to surprise and delight the senses while supporting the local community. As the region’s primary destination for culture, shopping, dining and entertainment, THE STREET presents this year's stroll event in partnership with The Newton Cultural Alliance (NCA) and Boston Magazine.

WHEN & WHERE: Arts Stroll & Shop will take place at THE STREET, 55 Boylston Street Chestnut Hill, for three days: Friday, December 13th 6:00-9:00pm; Saturday, December 14TH 12:00pm-6:00pm; Sunday, December 15th 12:00pm-6:00pm. FURTHER DETAILS: THE STREET kicks off the Newton Cultural Alliance’s third annual Arts Stroll & Shop on Friday, December 13th at 6:00pm on The Green (directly in front of Shake Shack).

A live brass quintet from the New Philharmonia Orchestra and holiday carolers will set the stage and local officials will welcome guests. Shake Shack’s hot chocolate and Rosie’s Bakery’s steaming cider will be served along with passed bites in The Green’s “ice lounge” complete with ice cube seats and frozen cocktail tables. THE STREET’s stunning holiday light installation, Luminescence, by renowned artist Pandora LaCasse will create the perfect backdrop.

While strolling through THE STREET on Friday evening, guests will find in-store and outdoor festivities like savory and sweet bites, hot beverages, wine tastings, complimentary gift-wrapping stations, art demonstrations, pop-up performances and more. As this one-of-a-kind holiday festival continues throughout the weekend, guests will have the opportunity to discover new music and art and to purchase unique holiday gifts from THE STREET’s 40 distinctive stores and restaurants.

  • Outdoor Ice Lounge complete with ice furniture

  • Outdoor Art Garden and Live Art Alcove with artists from New Art Center, Newton Open Studios and New Art Association

  • Live Performances from Local Musicians like Liz & Friends, Newton South Newtones, Newton North Melocotones, and the Charles River Wind Ensemble

  • Toy Drive and Candy Buffet with The Home for Little Wanderers

  • Gift Wrapping Station at Sports Club/LA in partnership with non-profit Mother Caroline Academy

  • Sweet Stations with Rosie's Bakery and Treat Cupcake Bar

  • Ku De Ta pop-up boutique

  • Gourmet Popcorn Station by Showcase SuperLux

  • Flower Stand by Portobello Road and Table & Tulip

  • Tea Tasting Station by DAVIDsTEA

  • THE STREET gives visitors the opportunity to discover a remarkable collection of unique, curated, and high-end retailers. Recent newcomers in the past month include Splendid, polkadogbakery, INTERMIX, Calypso St. Barth, Del Frisco’s Grille, and DAVIDsTEA.

    Offering the perfect opportunity for holiday generosity during Arts Stroll & Shop, The Home for Little Wanderers’ Big Wishes Toy Room is open at THE STREET and accepting donations. The organization aims to collect an estimate of 15,000 gifts by December 22, 2013 to fulfill the holiday wishes for some of the most vulnerable children and families in Massachusetts. Those who donate a toy during the stroll will receive a complimentary cupcake from Treat Cupcake Bar.
