September is World Alzheimer's Month and, worldwide, 35 million people and their families are affected by dementia. In the U.S alone, over 5 million persons are living with Alzheimer's. Join us as, here and around the world, Alzheimer's Associations mark World Alzheimer's month with global awareness and educational and fundraising events. Arlene Lowney, Newton’s Team Captain, asks that we join this concerted effort to help find the cause, the cure and the compassionate care so necessary for persons living with this disease and their courageous caregivers.
Everyone is encouraged on this day to register to walk by starting a team or joining the Newton team or donating to the cause through Team Newton’s efforts. Be inspired as you watch City Hall “Go Purple” on September 23rd and commit to make the Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer’s, taking place on September 29th in Cambridge, a successful fundraising event.
