Will You Recognize Earth Hour Tonight?

Earth Hour will take place Saturday, March 23 at 8:30 p.m.

Many homes, buildings and businesses may shine a little less bright tonight.

As part of the World Wildlife Fund's Earth Hour, homeowners, businesses and municipalities across the globe will shut off all nonessential lights for one hour tonight, March 23, starting at 8:30 p.m.

The WWF's Earth Hour encourages the hour of darkness "to focus on the one thing that unites us all—our planet." The movement aims to raise awareness about various environmental issues affecting the planet including energy consumption and global warming.
