City to Hold September 11 Ceremony Tuesday Morning

Later in the day, the Newton 9-11 Memorial Committee will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the city's new September 11 memorial.

The city of Newton will hold two ceremonies tomorrow to mark the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. 

Starting at 9:30 a.m., a ceremony will be held on the War Memorial steps outside , according to a press release issued by the mayor's office today.

Later in the day, Mayor Setti Warren and the Newton 9-11 Memorial Committee will hold .

The groundbreaking will be held at 6 p.m. at the future site of the memorial, outside the city's in Newton Centre. 

The memorial, , honors the eight victims with ties to Newton who were killed in the September 11 attacks: , , Nicholas Humber, Aaron Jacobs, Stuart Meltzer, Richard Ross, and .
