Five Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 24

Concerts, films and the farmers' market.

1. Free concert and movie! It's Friday, and that means another free movie and concert at the  in Newton Highlands. Starting at 6 p.m. Specific Gravity (rock music) will perform. After the concert, there will be a free showing of Toy Story 3. Both the concert and the movie will take place outside the center, but will be moved into the gym if it rains. Admission is free and snacks/drinks will be sold during the shows.

2. Fiddle Masters. at the alongside a number of his colleagues. Wicklund's performance will include a varied repertoire of fun fiddle music. The concert, which starts at 8 p.m., is in conjunction with the FiddlePal camp that ran at the Suzuki School of Newton this week. Tickets are $20, $15 students/seniors. 

3. Farmers' market. The will set up today at the from noon - 5 p.m.

5. Films at the senior center. The shows films every Friday afternoon (oftentimes foreign films) and today's feature is Slyvia, which tells the story of the marriage between poet Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes. The film starts at 1 p.m.
