Five Things You Need to Know Today: Sept. 16

A new FroYo shop is set to open, a free concert and Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown.

1. Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins tonight at sundown. We have a roundup of services in Newton.

2. Free concert. The Newton Free Library will host Sang Woo Kang this afternoon for a concert of solo piano works starting at 2 p.m. The concert will include works composed by Scarlatti, Mozart, Chopin and Corigliano.

3. YoFresh to open today. According to a sign on the front door of the business, YoFresh Frozen Yogurt shop is set to open today at 11 a.m. The new self-serve FroYo business is located at 14 Austin St. in Newtonville.
