Get Scared in a Haunted House and Contribute to Scientific Research

Fear experts from Northeastern University will put on a haunted house Friday night.

Haunted houses pop up each October to give people a few scares for Halloween, but a special spooky spot will be set up in Newtonville Friday night.

This haunted house was set up by researchers at Northeastern University to hone ideas for questions for their research into what’s happening in the brain when people experience visceral feelings, according to a report in the Boston Globe.

The fear experts know the subtle movements that, when done just right, give people a real fright. Along with giving people a spooky good time, the haunted house also raises thousands of dollars for the Greater Boston Food Bank.

The Northeastern haunted house is at 18 Washington Park in Newtonville. It will be open on Friday, Oct. 25, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per person.
