It's insane for the MBTA express buses from Waltham needing to merge all 4 lanes after the ramp for the stop on Washington St. south-side; and those whom that go in 360 circles just to get passengers on both sides before heading out of the area.

New signage coming from the Feds to the famed "Circle of Death" this summer. http://bit.ly/NNk3xs. I doubt this will help the traffic issues, but the signage has not been replaced since the completion of the I-90 extension in the 1970's.

I know in my own neighborhood--Commonwealth/Rowe St./Wolcott/Webster/Auburndale Ave--people do not know what STOP signs mean.

The emphasis should be away from road maintenace for personal cars towards mass transit. Adding a train station on the Boston -Worcester line at Brighton/Route 20/Soldiers Field Road/IHOP/Mass Pike would take traffic from the COD (Circle of Death). The trackless trolleys should extend from Watertown Sq to the COD. A new train station at Brighton/Route 20 should have bus service directly to the malls and to Central Square, Cambridge. Let the roads suffer, that'll slow down autos and drive the cell phoners and texters "mad".
