Five Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 11

1. Thank a veteran. It's Veterans Day, so make sure you find someone in uniform and give him/her a special thanks for their service.

3. Veterans Day Ceremonies. The city of Newton will hold its Veterans Day ceremony at the starting at 11 a.m. Over at , a memorial service will be held at 9:30 followed by a ceremony near the BC Veterans' Memorial. . 

4. School's out...for today anyway, due to the holiday. offices and the will also be closed. 

5. On schedule! All trash, recycling, yard waste and bulky item pick-up will run on schedule this week despite the holiday. The will be closed today but will be open tomorrow (Saturday) from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
