Veterans Day Ceremonies in Newton

Honor local veterans with these events tomorrow.

Both the city of Newton and Boston College will honor local veterans during special ceremonies tomorrow morning. 

On the city side, a ceremony will be held tomorrow, Nov. 11, at the in Nonantum. Local veterans, families and residents are welcome to the event to honor local men and women in uniform.

The event begins at 11 a.m. and light refreshments will be served following the ceremonies.

Over at , Veterans Day will begin with a memorial mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. After the service, a remembrance ceremony and and symbolic roll call will be held at 11 a.m. near the Veterans' Memorial on the Burns Library lawn. 

US Army Col. David J. Clark, a 1981 graduate of Boston College, will be the featured speaker at the mass and BostonCollege ceremonies. Clark will share his own military experiences as well as honor the country's veterans and their sacrifices.

Clark is the director of the Army’s Foreign Intelligence Office and director of the Department of Defense’s 60th Anniversary Korean War Commemoration Committee. He has served around the globe in many different roles and is currently stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. 

A reception will also be held following the Boston College ceremony in Gasson Hall, room 100.
