Lasell College Appoints VP for Development and Alumni Relations

Lasell College President Michael B. Alexander has announced the appointment of Dean Hickey as Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations. 

In this position, Hickey will serve as the College’s chief fundraising officer, responsible for the leadership, direction, strategic planning, and coordination of the Lasell Fund, major gifts and planned giving, future capital campaigns, alumni events including reunions, new donor identification and engagement, the Board of Overseers, and the Board of Management of Lasell Alumni, Inc. 

Hickey comes to Lasell from Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he has worked for nine years, the last eight of those serving as a Vice President in the chief fundraising role.  Previously he worked as a Major Gift Officer at the UMass Memorial Foundation and in corporate sales for Ermini Marketing & Design, and for Curran & Connors, one of the largest financial reporting companies in the country.   He also served in the United States Army as a Russian Linguist and Signals Intelligence Analyst and attended the U.S. Army Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California.

He holds a B.S. in Business from Central Connecticut State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Philanthropy and Development at Saint Mary’s University in Minnesota.
