Casino Night Returns

April 9th brings the return of Casino Night presented by the Chamber's Young Professionals Group (YPG). This marks the second year of this glamorous annual event held at Mr Sid's swank 1211 Lounge in Newton Centre. Last year's event was an instant success that had the entire town talking. This high stakes, high energy networking event features Blackjack, craps, roulette, appetizers from Del Frisco's Grille, and an open-bar sponsored by Mr. Sid.

Casino Night is the premiere event of the Young Professionals Group, which has been quietly growing their audience through such creative, exciting events. What can you expect from the evening? You’ll leave your office woes at the door when you step through the doors, greeted by friends and colleagues, treated to delicious fare from Del Frisco's Grille, and ushered to the game tables. The gambling is equally fun for novices and pros. Professional dealers guide the games, leaving you to enjoy and meet new colleagues and business connections. Remember to bring your business cards and your poker face! Towards the end of the evening you’ll turn your chips into chances to win a terrific raffle. With prizes from THE STREET, SportsClub/LA, Mr. Sid, and many local businesses the evening ends with many winners!

The Young Professional Group represents the growing interest of this generation in becoming more involved in not only the Chamber but also their community. As our interests grow beyond our own industries, we recognize the necessity of diverse collaborations to sustain the communities’ excellence. To that end, the YPG events directly correlate to our mission to foster connections and develop the lives of young professionals of Newton and Needham while giving back. Even Casino Night gives back! The proceeds from the evening will benefit the Newton Cultural Alliance.

The Newton Cultural Alliance (NCA) is a coalition of non-profit arts and cultural organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in Newton through programming and collaborative work promoting arts and culture in Newton. YPG selected NCA as its beneficiary not only because of its arts advocacy work, but for its expansive community and economic development programs like the annual Arts Stroll & Shop which partners local merchants, restaurants and artists each December to bring the community a weekend of “Shop Local. Eat Local. Art Local.”

YPG’s next event that gives back is as participants in the annual spring cleanup of Hemlock Gorge on Saturday, April 26.
