Blog: Now We Know Why Joe K III is Running from Debates

Experience and maturity matters in a congressman

Sean Bielat and Joseph Kennedy III had their first debate last week in a taped performance on WCVB.  Watch the entire debate here (it's in two parts). You will see clearly why the Kennedy campaign is not allowing their candidate to debate more than three times. Sean Bielat has agreed to 16 debates.

Now even the Boston Globe is questioning why Joe is avoiding public scrutiny. Even the Globe's Joan Vennochi, normally a strong liberal voice on the paper's opinion page, argues that the voters deserve a full vetting of the candidates:

"This debate about debates isn’t about a candidacy that’s a joke. It’s about respect for voters, process, and democracy."

Please watch the debates and ask yourself who you think would be a stronger and more effective voice in Congress for your family and for the voters of our congressional district?

The fact that Kennedy wants to buy his way into congress, while avoiding scrutiny should tell the voters all they need to know. After all, how do you defend your position to end "cheap oil", while claiming to want to improve the economy? Serious times call for serious candidates, and Sean Bielat has held numerous town hall meetings with the citizens of MA-4, because positions that are based upon common sense are easy to defend. Bielat is the obvious choice and he gets my support.

I have a local cable show in Newton and have tried to get both in a debate, Bielat said yes and we're waiting to hear from Kennedy's campaign. I have my doubts since the date we gave them was 10/18 and it's only a week and a half away. Since it's a taping, I am flexible with the date, We'll see.

16 debates? Who has the time to follow all of these debates?
