Newton Republicans Lead Effort to Greet Governor Romney on Election Day

Newton Republicans Support Mitt Romney on Election Day in Belmont

Three officers from the Newton Republican City Committee, Chairman Tom Mountain, Recording Secretary Anil Adyanthaya and Corresponding Secretary Deb Shapiro, went to Belmont this morning to welcome Governor Romney as he and Ann Romney went to their hometown precinct to vote.  The Newton contingent distributed over 100 Romney signs to supporters and helped organize the many Romney supporters who had brought their own homemade signs.  Republican committees from Belmont and Watertown were also represented.

In addition to the local and national press that were covering the event, reporters from all over the globe were in attendance.  Secretary Shapiro was interviewed by a Polish radio station and Chairman Mountain gave interviews to two Spanish language stations and to Boston University TV.

It was a very historic day and the Newton Republican City Committee was extremely glad to play a part.
