Zoe Levenson of Newton died on Jan. 5 at the age of 85.
She was born in Poland, and moved to the United States at the age of 10. She played cello and taught music, played in chamber and orchestral ensembles and hosted musical events, according to an obituary on the Levine Chapels website.
She is the mother of Jeffrey Levenson of Brookline and the late Carrie Levenson-Wahl. She will be missed by a large circle of friends and by her grandchildren, Sasha Romary, Gabrielle Levenson-Wahl, Erica Levenson, and Nathan Levenson.
Funeral services are private.
