Please join Richard Berman, a Production Assistant at NewTV for over ten years and a longtime participant in the Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port for a showing of the iconic The Wizard of Oz at NewTV (23 Needham St) on May 21, 6-9pm. As an added treat, the Newton Youth Players will perform “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” shortly before showtime!
The Newton Youth Players are a children's theatre company for elementary school children who have been performing musicals for nine years. The Wizard of Oz is a favorite of Executive Director, Melissa Bernstein, who has directed the play three times in the last nine years. All three casts – two from 2012 and the cast of 2006 – will be performing together, accompanied by Neil Miller, a longtime musical director.
Come watch the Newton Youth players perform, have some food and refreshments, and enjoy the classic (movie starts at 7pm)!
***All proceeds go to support Best Buddies and NewTV Internship Program.
