"Suspicious Item" Reported at Boston College, Police Responding

The incident was reported on the Brighton/Chestnut Hill campus, right on the Newton line.

According to a Boston Police spokesman, the scene at Boston College has been cleared.

Boston Police are on scene at  this afternoon for reports of a suspicious item on campus.

According to a Boston Police spokesman, police received a call around 3:30 p.m. for a possible bomb threat.

A report on the Boston Police Department Twitter feed says a Brighton bomb squad is responding the college's dining hall for reports of a "suspicious item."

Police were not able to provide any additional information at this time. 

Scanner reports indicate the building was evacuated.

The dining hall, located at 60 St. Thomas More Road, is technically in Brighton. However, it sits right on the Brighton/Newton line.
