Charges After Biting Firefighter; Cocaine Distributed at Hotel Bathroom; House Breaks

The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

On June 6, police responded to 3 Boylston St., AT&T, for a report of shoplifting in progress involving two men. Both were placed under arrest for shoplifting. Ernest Paul Tocci, 58, 22 Jackson Terrace, Newton, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. Leonard Paul Tocci, 23, 22 Jackson Rd., Newton, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. 

On June 6, police responded to a possible B&E to a home on Allerton Road. Owners had returned home to find the rear kitchen door open and the window smashed. At least two second floor bedrooms were ransacked, and the first floor dining room had been rummaged through. The kitchen was also in disarray. A navy blue Eddie Bauer diaper bag was reported missing from the kitchen. The bag was dumped of its contents by the intruder to use to fill with stolen items. Stolen items include silverware, 2 mens Movado watches, cufflinks and a mink coat.

On June 6, police responded to Suffolk Road for a report of a stolen car. A man reported that his 2007 Toyota Camry was stolen from Plymouth Road.

On June 6, police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle on Plymouth Road. A woman said she left her green Schwinn bike unlocked at the intersection of Woodend Road and Bowdoin Street. After school, her bike was gone. 

On June 6, police responded to Willow Street for a report of an unconscious woman. When firefighters and medics tried to wake her, she became enraged and hit and bit one of the firefighters. Police will seek charges of A&B on a public employee against this 53-year-old woman from Newton.

On June 6, police at 10:37 p.m., responded to a car on Waltham Street for a person having a seizure. The keys were still in the ignition and the vehicle was running as the operator lay unresponsive with vomit on his face. A 16-year-old male from Newton will be charged with child endangerment with driving under the influences. The passengers were 14. 

On June 8, police resounded to Crescent Street for a report of a domestic situation. Police will seek complaints in the Newton District Court for malicious destruction of property. The man is 18 and from Newton. 

On June 8, at 6:15 p.m., police responded to Hotel Indigo, where they were alerted by an employee that there was a problem in the first floor men's bathroom. Police spotted an empty small piece of a corner of plastic bag on the floor of the handicapped stall in the back of the bathroom. This "corner bag" is typical of the way some amounts of cocaine can be transported.Denis Boka, 26, 15 Carson St., Dorchester, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class B substance. 

On June 8, police responded to Saco Street for a report of a domestic dispute. Mikhail Kopilevich, 28, 25 Saco St., Newton, was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault and battery. 

On June 9, police responded to Showcase Cinemas on Boylston Street for a report of a stolen motor vehicle, a 2001 black Audi. 

On June 9, police, at 6:38 p.m., responded to the area of Strearns playground for a report of a person riding a dirt bike in the field. Police spotted someone on Jackson Road near Lincoln Eliot School driving a dirt bike on the baseball field. The serial number on the bike matched with the stolen bike reported on June 5, but the exterior had been spray painted. The mother and boy will receive a summons for receiving stolen property over $250. The boy is 17 and from Newton. 

On June 10, police responded to Newtonville Ave. for a past B&E to a MV. The victim reported that sometime during the night someone broke into his 2007 white Toyota. 

On June 10, a person came in to the police station to report that his keys were stolen from his property while at the Boston Sports Club and that items were stolen out of his vehicle, which was parked in front of Harris Cyclery. 

On June 10, at 4:19 p.m., police responded to Langley Road for a report of a past house B&E. The owner left his residence at 1 p.m. and got home at 6 p.m. to find his house had been broken into. The bedroom had the dresser drawers content emptied on the floor. Missing items: US savings bonds, dollar bills, necklace, earrings, bracelets, coins. 

On June 10, at 5:15 p.m., police responded to the Jewish Community Center for a report of larceny from the building. Three boys, ages 15 and 14, were charged with larceny. 

On June 11, police responded to 1015 Washington Street for a possible B&E. Approximately 30-40 kids got into the upstairs apartment while the people were away. A man, 17 and homeless, was arrested for B&E in the night.
