According to Lt. Bruce Apotheker, Lopez was found in Boston Sunday afternoon. She was last heard from on Wednesday, police said, when she talked to her mother on the phone.

"She was found safe and secure in Boston," Apotheker said. "We want to thank the state police and the forensics department of the Middlesex district attorney's office for their assistance in locating her."

No further information is available at this time.

UPDATED: Newton Police have issued an updated press release on Lopez saying she was last heard from on Wednesday near her home in Chestnut Hill as she was speaking to her mother on the phone. Lopez told her mom she was leaving.

Lt. Bruce Apotheker told Newton Patch authorities had searched Hammond Pond (which abuts Hammond Pond Parkway) for Lopez after detecting a cell phone ping from her phone. They did not locate Lopez. He said Newton Firefighters, State Police divers and its airwing assisted in the search.
