Level 3 Hazmat at Boston College
Fire crews are responding to the science building on Beacon Street.
Update 10:20 a.m.
The Boston Fire Dept. is reporting via Twitter that the chemical spilled was piperidine.
The scene is starting to clear and one lab worker was sent to the hospital to be checked out, the feed said. Reports said there was a small amount of the chemical spilled on him, but he was decontaminated at the scene.

Fire crews responded to a level 3 hazmat situation at this morning after a reported chemical spill in the science building.

According to scanner reports, the call for the spill came in just after 9 a.m. Friday and both Boston and Newton Fire Departments responded to the scene.
The Boston Fire Department Twitter feed indicates the Boston College science building is located at 2609 Beacon St. in Brighton. The feed said the spill was in the second floor of the building.
The Twitter feed also indicated there were no injuries in the spill and that firefighters are suiting up to decontaminate the area.
