Man Killed in Newton When Mother Backs Over Him with Minivan

An elderly woman backed over her son with a minivan in Newton and killed him on Tuesday afternoon.

The man was standing behind the minivan in a driveway on Donna Road when the woman put it in reverse and ran over her son, according to a report in the Boston Globe. He suffered and leg injury and was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office told WCVB Channel 5.

No charges have been filed against the woman but the incident remains under investigation, according to the Globe.
