Man Reportedly Assaults, Attempts to Rob Woman Near Boston College in Newton

The incident reportedly happened Tuesday night on Manet Road.

Newton Police and Boston College Police officers responded to Manet Road Tuesday night after a woman reported an assault with attempt to rob. 

According to police reports, a 21-year-old female was walking alone on Manet Road (near BC) around 9 p.m. when a man came up behind her and tried to take her phone out of her hand. 

In the process of taking the phone, the suspect hit the woman in the face, reports said.

The male suspect looked at the phone -- which was an older model made by Samsung -- and dropped it on the ground while fleeing toward Commonwealth Avenue. 

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6'2" tall, 25-years old, possibly a "bony nose", skinny build and wearing a dark winter jacket with a hood.
