UPDATED: Newton Man Arrested After Abduction, Standoff in Nashua, N.H.

The suspect was taken into custody peacefully after the standoff at a Nashua motel.

Nashua Police arrested a Newton man after a standoff that began Monday night and ended about 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Stanslav Osherov, 22, of 264 Grove St. Apt. 4 in Newton, was arrested in connection to an abduction and standoff at the Motel 6 in Nashua, N.H., Nashua Patch reports. The standoff ended peacefully and without injury, according to Nashua Lt. Denis Linehan.

The victim's mother received a text from her 21-year- old daughter at about 9:40 p.m. saying had been abducted from a class at University of New Hampshire's Manchester campus. Osherov is the victim's ex-boyfriend.

The pair checked into the Motel 6 in Nashua. Police discovered Osherov's car at the motel and that a room was checked into under the victim's name, according to Nashua Patch. The Crisis Intervention Unit was able to establish a line of communication with Osherov. After hours of dialogue with Osherov, they successfully negotiated for the victim’s release as well as for Osherov to surrender himself peacefully.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Division are working closely with detectives from the Manchester Police Department on this investigation, which is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated. Osherov is being held on $500,000 cash only bail, pending his arraignment in 9th Circuit-Nashua District Division Court on January 29, 2014, Nashua Patch reported.

Osherov was charged with domestic violence/kidnapping, but more charges may be added by Nashua and Manchester police, Linehan said.

A woman from Manchester, N.H., was abducted at gunpoint Monday night at about 10 p.m. Monday, according to WMUR. Some guests were evacuated from the motel during the standoff.
