Newton Man Arrested After Allegedly Crashing a Stolen Car

The suspect was caught after he tried to hide in a driveway near the accident.

Newton Police arrested a man after he allegedly crashed a stolen car on West Pine Street. 

On Sept. 18 at 9:30 a.m., two men were spotted running toward the cover after the accident, according to police, and a tall, black male was seen heading up a driveway.

The officer spotted a tall, thin black man crouching behind some trash bins. A witness identified the man as the driver of the car. 

Murrata Kapiga, 21, of 323 Waltham St. in Newton, was arrested on a charge of receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
