Newton Man Arrested Following Domestic Incident

The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

March 10

  • A Wyman Street resident reported harassing telephone calls coming from a man calling himself Michael Davis from the Interval Revenue Service. When a police officer called the man, he identified himself as Michael Cooper then hung up.
March 9
  • A Hazelhurt Road resident reported a "Nook" tablet and cash were stolen from her bedroom.
March 8
  • Joseph Fitzpatrick, 30, of 265 Pearl St., Newton, was arrested in relation to a domestic incident.
March 7
  • A woman reported a window of her vehicle had been smashed open on Wells Avenue and her tote bag was stolen. While an officer was investigating the incident, another woman said her vehicle was also broken into and her purse was stolen.
March 6
  • A Gibbs Street resident reported that cash and a gold ring were stolen from his home.
  • Vincent Cedrone, 56, of 315 Crafts St., Newton, was charged with larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property valued over $250.
  • A Clark Street resident reported cash was stolen from his home and his camera was knocked to the ground.
