Newton Man Arrested for Alleged Open and Gross Lewdness at Green Line T Stop
The man was arrested for allegedly masturbating at the Beaconsfield Green Line stop in Brookline.
A Newton man was arrested this morning for allegedly masturbating at a Green Line T stop earlier this month.
John Wintersteiner, 30, was arrested at his home today and charged with open and gross lewdness, according to the MBTA Transit Police blog.
On Dec. 3 around 7:10 p.m., a 25-year-old female spotted a man -- later identified as Wintersteiner -- masturbating inside the hut on the outbound platform of the Beaconsfield D Line stop in Brookline, Transit Police said.

Transit Police posted security camera photos of the suspect on their blog, asking the public to send any information about the man to Transit Police.
Transit Police detectives then received a tip through the MBTA's anonymous tip text line (873873) about Wintersteiner's identity and arrested him at his home this morning.

Wintersteiner is scheduled to be in Brookline District Court sometime today.
