Newton Man Transported Via Med-Flight After Crash

A 21-year-old Newton man crashed his car on I-495 in Littleton Tuesday night.

A 21-year-old Newton man was flown to the hospital via med-flight Tuesday after he crashed his car into a tree on I-495 in Littleton.

According to information provided by the Massachusetts State Police, the driver "suffered an unknown medical emergency and began swerving across the highway" before he crashed his 1998 Jeep Cherokee. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to Boston Medical Center.

Littleton Fire Department responded to the scene and I-495 was closed for approximately 20 minutes while the med-flight helicopter landed. The highway was reopened shortly after the helicopter left the scene, State Police reported.

State Police did not have any further information on the man's condition in their update.
