Newton Police Log: Cell Phone Thieves, Bikes Stolen, Couple Busted on Warrants

The following information was provided by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Sept. 13

A car that was parked on Vernon Street for a couple weeks turned out to be a 2004 Toyota Corolla stolen from Boston. The car has a flat tire and damaged rim.

An Allen Avenue resident found the left rear window was smashed, but nothing was missing from inside the car.

A Prince Street resident found a bike leaning against her garage, and then noticed that her bike was gone from the garage. Her bike was a black Trek mountain bike.

Police arrested Sarah A. Green, 62, of 27 Dale St. in Newton, was arrested for shoplifting at Whole Foods on Washington Street.

A cell phone was stolen from the AT&T Store on Needham Street. The LG Optimus G Pro phone was ripped off the display, but the alarm did not go off. Suspects who were in the store at the time were described as a white male, 6-foot-1, athletic build, short brown hair and balding wearing a back T-shirt and plaid shorts. The second was a white male, 6-foot, athletic, short black hair, a white T-shirt and jeans. The third was a white female, 5-10, average build, dark hair, wearing black Capri shorts and a blue top. One of the men was seen taking the phone and putting it in the woman’s purse.

Police arrested two people on warrants. Katrina M. Lotti, 23 of 15 Peregrine Road in Newton was arrested on a warrant from Waltham District Court for possession of a Class B drug. Harold Irving Emery Jr., 26, of 15 Peregrine Road in Newton, was arrested on a warrant from Newton District Court for larceny over $250, and assault and battery on a person who is over 60/disabled with injury.

Police arrested Nicole Katherine Reedy, 26, of 111 Wabanhill Road North in Newton, on a charge of domestic assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

 

Sept. 14

A Wildwood Avenue resident noticed a bicycle that did not belong to him resting against his bushes. Then he realized his own bike was missing. His bike, a Cannondale CAAD 10, was found by police later that day on Warwick Road.

A wallet was taken from a locker at Boston Sports Club on Wells Avenue. The locker had been locked, and when the man returned he found the lock on the locker next to his.

A bicycle was stolen from the garage of a Devon Road home. The bike is a Raleigh men’s road bike, size small, color silver/grey.

 

Sept. 15

Two men came into the AT&T Store on Needham Street and took two phones each and ran out of the store. One suspect was described as a black male, 6-foot-3, thin build, wearing a grey shirt, blue jeans and a hat. The second was a black male, 5-foot-8, blue jeans, and a red hooded sweatshirt.

A taxi driver took a passenger to Brookside Avenue from Brighton and when they arrived in Newton the woman got out and went behind a house and disappeared. The suspect is described as a white female, 19-21 years old.
