Newton Police Log: Driver Asleep Behind Wheel Arrested for OUI, Road Rage Incident

The following information was provided by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 6

Police arrested Paige Norcross, 18, of 28R Middle St. in Newton, on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of cruelty to animals.

Police arrested David H. Jones, 40, of 31 Whitlowe Road in West Newton on charges of driving an unregistered vehicle, driving with a suspended registration and unlicensed driving.

Police arrested John Lawler, 48, of 120 Farwell St. in Newton, was arrested on two warrants for larceny by check of over $250.

Police arrested Ryan J. Boudreau, 20, of 44 Billings Park in Newton, for a warrant out of Quincy District Court on charges of assault and battery.

Police arrested a 14-year-old boy for breaking and entering and larceny over $250 on Jefferson Street.

 

Nov . 7

Police arrested Mamed Mollayev, 39, of 181 Lexington St. Apt. 11 in Newton on a probation warrant

 

Nov. 8

Police arrested Francis Early IV, 25, of 221 Grove St. Apt. 1 in Newton, on two warrants from Dedham District Court  - one for a person under 21 in possession of alcohol and the second for receiving stolen property under $250 and deface property.

A bicycle was stolen from Newton North High School. It was left on the side of the theater and was not locked.

A resident reported that a car was broken into on Joseph Road.

 

Nov. 9

Police found a car sitting in the middle of Sharpe Road with the motor running, and the driver asleep behind the wheel. Nicolas E. Hamwey, 22, of 29 Pope Road in Acton, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

 

Nov. 10

Police summonsed a 52-year old woman from Newton to court on a charge of trespassing.

Two men got into an argument over a parking space after one man pulled into a space on the Washington Street when another pulled in. The man who pulled into the spot went to the store and when he came out the other man was waiting. The tried to leave the spot, but the man who was waiting would not let him out. The man in the car felt scared and did not want to talk to the other man. He tried to leave and ran over the other man’s foot. Neither wanted to press charges.

A woman ordered a Samsung Galaxy S2 on the internet and it was delivered to her house, but when she came home the box was opened and the phone was gone.
