Newton Police Log: Drug Arrest, Kate Spade Purses Taken

The following arrest information was supplied by the Newton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

July 11:

A Volvo was broken into while parked at a home on Parker Street. The resident realized she did not lock the car the previous night, and when she looked she found the glove box and center console open.

A woman came into Kate Spade at the Chestnut Hill Mall and took three purses and put it into a black shoulder bag. The suspect is described as a 40-year-old white female who is about 5-foot-6.

A resident reported that someone entered his Ford Ranger while he was at the Weeks House on Hereward Road.

A 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser was reported stolen from a home on Boylston Street. It had been parked there for several weeks.

July 12:

Police arrested a man who was out of control. Paul M. Cannistraro, 20, of 540 Centre Street Apt. 6 in Newton, was arrested on charges of possession of a Class B drug and possession of a Class D drug.

 

July 13:

A Florence Street resident noticed her shed was open and when she looked she discovered her Sears Craftsman lawnmower was gone.

Three men came into the AT&T store on Needham Street and one asked a few questions before leaving, then the other two grabbed Samsung Galaxy S4 phones, ripped them off the wall and ran from the store. All were described as black males. The first wore a white Harvard T-shirt with gray sweatpants, the second was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with Harvard on the sleeves and khaki shorts, and the third wore a white shirt with black sweat pants and a blue and orange hat. The first one may have been waiting in a vehicle ready to drive the other two away.

A Ferncroft Road resident reported that her glovebox was open and the contents were on the seat. There wee no signs of forced entry.

 

July 14:

An employee at Gath Pool arrived at work and found someone had broken the bolt on the gate to the kiddie pool to get access to the big pool. It likely occurred overnight.
