Newton Police Log: Home Broken Into While Family was Away, iPhone Stolen

The following information was provided by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 27

A vehicle parked on Waban Hill Road was entered and rummaged through. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

A Waban Hill Road resident said someone entered her vehicle sometime overnight. The car was left unlocked and parked in the driveway.

A blue trash container was taken from a home on Central Street. It was left out on the evening of Dec. 22 and was gone the next day.


Dec. 28

Two men entered the AT&T Store and took some iPads off the shelf and ran out of the store heading westbound on Boylston Street. The suspects were described as black males, one was described as about 5-foot-4 and wore a dark colored hoodie.


Dec. 29

A family went on vacation and when they returned to their Jackson Street home and found several items missing from their home, including an iPad, two MacBook laptops.

A woman shopping at Star Market on Boylston Street discovered her cell phone was stolen. She left it on the credit card machine when she checked out. A security video showed a white male with blond hair in his mid-20s looking at the phone as she checked out and when she left he put the phone in his pocket.
