Newton Police Log: Homes Broken Into, Cars Vandalized

The following information was provided by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Jan. 14

A Stuart Road resident returned from work and found someone had broken into her home and took a white gold necklace with three diamonds.

Two upstairs bedrooms were ransacked in a house on Ward Street. Many pieces of jewelry were taken from the home.

Police responded to a home alarm on Devon Terrace and found the back door had been opened. Police believe the alarm scared off the thief.


Jan. 15

A motor vehicle was vandalized in the parking lot behind Del Frisco Grille. The front passenger side window was smashed.

A Ranger Rover parked in a driveway on Dickerman Road was broken into. The owner was alerted by the alarm going off at 4:30 a.m. A DVD player was taken.

A car was broken into on Lakewood Road and change was taken. The break-in occurred overnight.
