Newton Police Log: Man Busted for Smashing Posts, Car Windows and More

The following information was provided by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 20

A Broadlawn Drive resident reported hearing a loud smashing sound and saw a man hitting his lamppost with an object. The man and a neighbor confronted the man and subdued him until police arrived. Police found piece of wood on the lawn with glass embedded in it. He also allegedly smashed two car windshields and two other lawn lamps. A 17-year-old man from Brookline will be charged with five counts of malicious or wanton defacing or damaging of property.

Police arrested Katrin Pichie, 41, of 240 Cook Hill Road in Danielson, Conn., for a charge of larceny from the Whole Foods on Walnut Street. 

Police arrested Gordon Trammell, 21, of 9 Flood St. in Waltham, on a charge of violating an abuse prevention order.

Police will summons an 18-year-old female from Newton on a charge of malicious defacing or damaging of property - tires on a car on Watertown Street.

A car window of a vehicle parked on Charlesbank Road was broken.
