Newton Police Log: Man Caught Breaking into Home, Vandalism at Cabot School

The following information was provided by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 3

A package was taken from the porch of a home on Langley Road. The package contained two jackets from L.L. Bean and was delivered by UPS. A neighbor has also had several packages stolen over the last month.

A shed was broken into on Wells Avenue. An Echo weed whacker and Echo backpack leaf blower were taken.

Overnight, someone burned the lens a security camera at Cabot School with a cigarette.

Police responded to a breaking and entering in progress on Dearborn Street and arrested Neil M. McGuire, 34, of 26 Clinton St. in Newton, on charges of unarmed robbery and destruction of property.

Police arrested Frank A. Annese, 28, of 48 Hawthorne St. in Newton on a warrant out of Dedham District Court for driving with a suspended license and speeding.

A Washburn Avenue resident discovered that someone had pried the screen windows and lifted another screen window in an enclosed front porch. The main house was not entered and nothing appeared to be missing. 

Two pallets of American Walnut wood flooring was taken from a home on Upland Avenue. The flooring was last seen on Nov. 25.

Wood fencing around the WNTN radio station's antenna on Rumford Avenue was damaged. 

Two flower pots and a salt barrel were tampered with at Cabot School.

Nov. 5

Police arrested Igor Kladov, 34, of 125 Sherman Road in West Roxbury, on a charge of assault and battery.
