Newton Police Log: Tedeschi's Window Smashed, Woman Caught Shoplifting

Dec. 16

A Day Middle School student had her cell phone stolen from her locker, which she believes she left open.


Dec. 17

A shoplifter was caught at Bloomingdales. Kelly Sharib, 41, of 236 Speen St. in Natick, was arrested on a charge od larceny over $250.


Dec. 18

A woman was seen taking a bra and leaving Victoria's Secret without paying. The suspect is described as a white woman in her 30s with blond hair, wearing a white jacket and jeans. 

A man parked at the American Legion Post 440 and when he returned he found the spare wheel and tire had been taken from the vehicle. Three lug nuts that held the wheel in the bracket were on the ground.


Dec. 19

Police summonsed a 61-ear-old man from Somerville to court on a charge of violating a restraining order.

The glass door at Tedeschi's on Washington Street was smashed overnight. Security video showed an older white male kick the door at about 10 p.m. the previous night. The door was locked because the clerk was taking a bathroom break. 

Police summonsed a 24-year-old Watertown man to court on charges of criminal harassment and obscene phone calls.
