Newton Police Log: Woman Busted with Heroin, Car Window Smashed

The following information was provided by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Jan. 21

The Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force caught a woman with over 18 grams of heroin. The 26-year-old Newton woman will face drug trafficking charges.

A resident of the 500 block of Centre Street discovered someone went through the drawers in the master bedroom and three rings were taken. Glass was broken on a basement window and appeared to be forced open.

A shed at the Russian School for Math was broken into. A pad lock on the door had been cut off.

Warrants were obtained by police for a 40-year-old man from Boston for two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of threatening to commit a crime - murder.

Police arrested Lucius Wilder, 21, of 192 Harvard St. in Boston, for three warrants, driving with a suspended license and speeding.


Jan. 22

A 37-year-old woman from Newton was summonsed to court for assault and battery.

A 16-year-old boy form Newton was summonsed to juvenile court in Waltham for two counts of assault and battery and one count of malicious destruction of property.

Police arrested Sungmin Ahn, 38, of 268 Grove St. in Newton, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

A potted plant was used to smash the driver's window of a car on Huntington Road. The door was slightly ajar, and the owner believes someone went through the vehicle but nothing was missing. 


Jan. 23

Police arrested Yarom Eloul, 40, of 427 Commercial St. in Boston, was arrested on two warrants - one for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and one for threatening to commit a crime and assault and batter with a dangerous weapon.
