The following information was provided by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Oct. 25

A man found a set of tickets to the World Series for $550 on Craigslist.com. When he contacted them, the woman told him to go to another website and set up an account, and then send the money via Western Union. He sent the money and then the site took him to a site for a parcel service based in the United Kingdom. He contacted the parcel service and found only deliver in the UK and they have no affiliation with the site where he bought the tickets. He contacted the Newton Police and they found that the listing was fraudulent and the site was set up under a false name.
