Newton Police Seek Driver Who Ran Over an 87-Year-Old Man

The man was struck on Walnut Street in Newton Highlands on Friday night.

Newton Police seek help finding the driver of a car that ran over an 87-year-old man on Walnut Street Friday night.

Around 7:15 p.m., the man was struck and run over by a blue Honda two-door car as he crossed Walnut Street between Centre Street and Floral Street in Newton Highlands.

Witnesses said the driver turned onto Floral Street, and pulled over and then fled the area while people were tending to the victim, Newton Police said. The man was taken to Beth Israel Hospital to be treated for serious internal injuries, according to police.

Police say the driver was a white female, who drove a Honda with a Red Massachusetts Registration Plate beginning with the number 2.
