A Newton student told police a suspicious man followed her while she was walking home form the bus stop on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
The girl told Newton Police that she was walking on Byfield Road in Waban when she saw a man pacing in the middle of the street. When she turned onto Gammons Road she the man began following her, walking a short distance behind her.
The man did not try to talk to her or make contact, the girl told police, but did look back at her a few times as he walked away, Newton Police said.
The man was described as a white man, age 60 to 70, heavy build, and wore a blue and white plaid shirt, blue jeans, sunglasses and was holding a magazine, according to Newton Police.
