OMGPD: Men with Rifles in Bushes, Clocking a Bicyclist & More

In Newton, an older gentleman got steamed when a bicycle fell against his parked car. The man wanted to make sure the bicyclist would pay up if his car had been scratched; an altercation ensued. The driver was charged with assault & battery. For the full story: http://patch.com/A-x85l

Someone really wants those Volvo parts

A Watertown resident reported that someone took the cover of the directional signal off of a 1995 Volvo. That was not the first item pilfered from the car, police said: http://patch.com/A-x7bg

 

It looked like he had a rifle and he was staring at me

Police were called to Stewart Road in Needham on the evening of Aug. 27 for a report of a man with a rifle hiding in the bushes, staring at the reporting party. Officers arrived and checked the area and found the man in the backyard of a Stewart Road address. Two pellet guns were also found in the yard. The man, a 42-year-old Needham resident, was arrested for disorderly conduct: 


Telemarketer: "How @$&%# dare you!"

Also in Needham, a Forest Street resident contacted police on Aug. 29 after receiving a suspicious phone call. The woman said she had received a prerecorded telemarketing call from an unknown company regarding lowering her interest rates. When she pressed 0 to speak with an operator and request that she be taken off the company’s call list, the operator reportedly responded with an obscene comment. Police attempted to contact the company, but the phone number did not accept incoming calls: http://patch.com/A-x6Kz

 

Everything's JUST fine

In Sudbury, police officers responded to Lillian Avenue Saturday night after a report of a disturbance. The caller said people outside didn't sound happy. Responding officers spoke with those residents and everything was OK: http://patch.com/A-x3cz
