Police Log: A "Stolen" Haircut and a Dozen Car Breaks

No free cuts allowed

An employee at told police Tuesday (Sept. 13) that someone had come into the shop, received a hair cut and left without paying. The employee said the customer had complained that he did not like his hair cut and left on foot heading toward Langley Road. 

Copper theft at Highlands church

According to police reports, an administrator at the  told police that someone had stolen a total of 41 feet of copper downspouts from various spots around the church. The administrator reported that the theft happened sometime overnight on Sept. 13.

Stolen bike

A woman told police on Sept. 15 that someone stole her yellow bicycle that was sitting outside a building on Grove Street. The bike was a Huffy Cranbrook Cruiser with a brown seat, reports said. 

Car break-ins

  • Forest Avenue; sometime between Sept. 12 at 9 p.m. and Sept. 13 at 8 a.m., someone smashed the front driver's side window of a car.
  • Suban Place; sometime overnight between Sept. 12 and Sept. 13, someone entered an unlocked car parked in the driveway. 
  • Margaret Road; sometime overnight between Sept. 12 and Sept. 13, someone entered an unlocked car parked in the driveway.
  • Lake Avenue; sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 and 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 13, someone entered an unlocked car parked in a driveway. 
  • Dedham Street; sometime between midnight and 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 13, someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway.
  • Sherbrooke Road; sometime between 10 p.m. on Sept. 13 and the morning of Sept. 14, someone smashed the front passenger side window of a vehicle.
  • Mandalay Road; sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 8:47 a.m. on Sept. 14 someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in an unlocked garage. 
  • Church Street; someone entered a car parked in the driveway by smashing the rear driver's side window.
  • Lakewood Road; sometime between 6 p.m. on Sept. 12 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 13, someone broke into a car parked in a driveway that had a half-open passenger side window. 
  • Clements Road; sometime between 8 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 12;56 p.m. on Sept. 14, someone entered an unlocked car parked on the street.
  • Devon Road; sometime between 6 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 6 a.m. on Sept. 14, someone entered an unlocked car parked in a driveway.
