Police Log: Newton Teens Allegedly Break into Middle School with Marijuana

Two Newton teens were arrested on Saturday, Feb. 9 after they were allegedly caught with marijuana at F.A. Day Middle School.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the school around 5:15 p.m. Saturday for reports of an alarm.

When police arrived on scene, they found the school's door had been propped open by snow and an orange cone. Officers also smelled the scent of freshly burnt marijuana, reports said.

As a result, Alexander Petitti, 19, of 160 Pine St., and John MacKay, 17, of 137 Craft St., were arrested for breaking and entering in the nighttime and defacing property, police said. 

MacKay was also charged with possession to distribute a class D substance and drug violation near a school, police said.
