Police Make Arrests for A&B, Threats; Multiple Car and House Breaks

The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

On May 23, a person visited the station to report that someone had entered her unlocked home on Upland road and stole several items. Missing from the home are two MacBooks, a handheld video game system and several Magic and Gathering cards. 

On May 23, police responded to Fern Street for a past assault and battery. A hearing will be sought against both parties: one, a female, 20, from Newton, and the other, a male, 19, from Newton. 

On May 23, an officer was flagged down on Watertown Street by someone who reported that his bike, a red GMC Denali, was stolen from outside his work at Bridge Street. 

On May 23, at 7:29 a.m., police responded to Margaret Road for a report of a suspicious person. The caller said that about an hour prior, she noticed the man smoking a cigarette and walking along the sidewalk in front of the house. He looked at her and her house and continued to walk down Margaret Road toward Boylston Street. The caller was suspicious because "he did not seem to be lost and continued to look down to the ground." 

On May 24, police resounded to Church Street for a report of threats. Thomas Schofield, 42, 276 Church St., Newton, was arrested for A&B and threat to commit a crime. 

On May 25, police resounded to Eliot Street for a report of a larceny of copper wire. The suspect fled in a grey Ford Focus. He is described as a white male in his late 30s, heavy set, with light colored, short hair, stubble beard growth and a dark colored T-shirt. Robert Frederick O'Neil, 45, 91 Christina St. Newton, was arrested and charged with defacing property and cutting utility wires in the daytime. 

On May 25, officers responded to Charlesbank Road for a report of vandalism. Police are seeking charges in NDC for breaking and entering, MV malicious destruction of a motor vehicle. The suspect is a male, 45, from Newton. 

On May 26, police responded to a domestic disturbance on Woodward Street. Christopher Bryce Lawler, 30, 16 Frost Ave., Boston, was arrested for domestic A&B 

On May 26, a resident reported to police that her vehicle was broken into on Emmons Street. Contents were moved around and rummaged through. 

On May 26, police took a report for a B&E to a motor vehicle on Princess Road. 

On May 26, police responded to Emmons Street for a report of a past B&E of a motor vehicle. Several items were removed from the person's White 2013 Infiniti G37X.
